    Apple is better?

XP has a security hole that might allow a hacker to delete your files.

Apple eliminates the middleman by offering you:

The iTunes update installer!! Doubles as a disk formatting utility.

    Re. Apple is better?

As for the iTunes bug, only a few where affected who had a certain hard drive configuration. But for MS XP, ALL who have internet access are affected. Don't forget that the majority of Wintel users are average Joes who dont know the difference from a web page to an e-mail address but use their machines to play solitare and surf the web. Do you think these people will know about installing an update?
Another thing, Microsoft will not lift a finger to help those who will get attacked and will not be held liable due to licence agreement. Apple on the other hand helped those who did get affected by either paying for their drive recovery bills or refunding money for those who bought system utilities programs like Symantec Corps Norton Utilities or MicroMat Computer Systems TechTool Pro. Note that these utility programs have successfully restored lost iTunes drives.

    iTunes and XP

XP automatically installs security updates. (Wonder what would happen if someone were to hack that database?) I know a hardcore Windows lover, and he didn't even know about the security update!

As for Apple, they paid for my friend to send his hard drive to drive savers. Apple made amends for the small group of user who were affected.

    Apple : a single mistake

... and a thousand year to pay for it !

Come on ! It was an installer bug, not a security hole that allows a random malicious user to wreak havoc in your system !

Don't compare Apple with lemons !

    Minolta to go digital?

I pray every day for an affordable digital body for my Maxxum/Dynax lenses that doesn't limit aperture to 1:6.7. Unfortunately, I don't think it will ever happen.

If it's not compatible with my existing equipment, why buy Minolta? Looks like I'll be getting a Canon.
