    Confused

If people can get confused between the 2, it's because they are already confused using Windows. MS is just afraid of losing millions of people to push their advertising on. Apple should sue Snapple for infringing on their name. Notice how they specifically say "name" and not product ... so it really is a name issue that every company should follow if this goes through.

Hmmm. a company giving something away for free to undermine another product? Sound familiar MS???

    babies.

    So sue me..

Just waiting for Microsoft to try and sue the glass-making industry for their unauthorized production of their "windows" products, stating there might be confusion among consumers.

    Sigh.
PS - If Aqua is eye candy, does that mean Jobs sells candied apples?

    hey palm...

...in case you lose your appeal against xerox for that handwriting recognition software, i know a company that would probably be willing to license you THEIR handwriting recognition software for just, say, controlling interest in your company.

you can contact them at 1 infinite loop, cupertino, california... aw, heck, you know the rest. ask for "steve."

    Apples and Oranges

Pun intended. The first post regarding Apple and Snapple compared to Windows and Lindows is like comparing apples with oranges. Apple makes computers, Snapple makes food products. End of story.

However, Windows and Lindows are operating systems designed for computers. Therefore, they are of the same nature. It is clearly a take-off of Windows.

Since the Linux OS only changed one letter to create their name, technically they are within the danger zone; you have to change a trademark or identity at least 20%. Microsoft may very well have a legitimate legal argument here.

    Better Name

Call the new OS "Windex" and then you can not only run Windows apps on your machine, but clean your actual windows with it... probably get sued by a different company though... Oh well.

    MS Lawsuit Frivilous

If Apple couldn't win an injunction against Microsoft (the convicted corporate felon) for stealing elements of its GUI in the early 90s there's no plausible reason Microsoft should win a lawsuit against a company just because the name of its product is similar and provides compatibility with Windows apps.

If Bill Gates and Co. aren't extending their monopoly through questionable bundling methods, they're suing companies to run them out of business.

    Despicable Evil Monster, that Microsoft.
