Microsoft's settlement of the private antitrust actions filed against it 'makes a mockery of class actions' because it deliberately fails to compensate plaintiffs and is likely to be rejected by the court perhaps in the next couple of days, according to the plaintiffs' lawyerq quoted by Forbes.com.

    that the outcome would be just? Most any large corporation can side step the laws because they can afford to hire lawyers to stop the wheels of justice from turning.

    Any settlement proposal

    is useless unless Bill Gates and other Microsoft executives are put in prison. Along with this stipulation, a structural remedy is the only solution to the Microsoft monopoly. The economy needs it!

    Let me get this straight. MS responds to the class action suit by settling. But instead of paying the plaintiffs, they offer to donate free software to schools, which works to their benefit by taking away Apple's lead in education.
