CyberDisc has released new (free) beta versions of NodeScan Client/Server 1.0b9 system for Mac OS and OS X, its Java-based client for chat, file sharing, and searching. The NodeScan Server now supports streaming Ogg Vorbis format audio files: "While not optimized for streaming across limited bandwidth connections, the current implementation is suitable for Local Area or other high speed networks." The application also has indexing and searching functions for locating music files and playlist management features. (Audio playback is not currently supported in the Classic version of NodeScan Client.)
