    Danger, Will Robinson!

This "message" has the pretty strong stank of SCAM wafting from it.

Let me get this straight: Excite (as opposed to Excite@Home) is going to completely shut down and start up as some other venture, and NOBODY knew about this till the users get contacted? h***, even AOL puts out a press release (even when they raise rates)!

Nope, this one doesn't smell right.

    Nope, it's real..

You guys probably missed it, but the excite.com domain was sold for $10 million dollars, to the folks who run iwon.com..

Sad, I'm going to miss apple.excite.com and quicken.excite.com

    It's very real

I use my Excite account all the time, I got the same message only it was on their site when I logged in.

If you want to know where a link takes you in an email, just look at the sorce, its just HTML.

    Not a scam

On Nov. 30, InfoSpace agreed to pay $10 million for most of the assets of the Excite part of Excite@Home. This is just part of that ownership change.
