Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad mini set to ship February

Logitech has revealed its Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for the iPad mini. Although designed for the smaller iPad mini, Logitech says that it the keyboard uses full size keys. The cover keeps its weight down, but retains protective strength by utilizing an aluminum panel on its rear.

"Think of it as the other half of your iPad mini,” said Alexis Richard, Logitech’s director of brand development “Its clever seven-inch design fits perfectly with the iPad mini while offering full-size keys for easy typing, saving your screen space for content."

Although not a full-size keyboard, it also includes function shortcut keys for often used commands including copy and paste. The keyboard cover also automatically wakes an iPad mini when it is opened and switches to standby when closed. The in-built rechargeable battery is also said to be good for three months of use on a full charge.

The Logitech Keyboard Cover for the iPad mini will be available in early February for $80.

    LIes and more lies

It can't really have "full-sized keys" (the implication being also that it's a "full-sized" keyboard), if it fits in the dimensions of the mini can it?

The Apple wireless keyboard is about as small as a keyboard can get and still be a proper "full-sized" touch-typeable keyboard. Any keyboard that fits in the same physical space as an iPad mini, is - by *definition* - going to be a netbook sized "mini" keyboard both in overall size and in key size.

    This is just deceptive advertising.
