Apple today announced that Final Cut Pro on the Macintosh is quickly becoming the preferred platform for producing trailers and commercials for Hollywood's biggest movies. This year represents a large gain for Apple in this market; Apple reports top movie trailer companies like The Cimarron Group and Trailer Park have already made the move to FCP for the majority of their systems.

I don't know what Wired News was thinking. Having FCP and Maya under the same OS running in parallel is a great tool that Hollywood needs.
