Initio, NEC to marry FireWire efforts

Initio, a manufacturer of I/O expansion cards and other storage products, has announced a collaborative agreement with NEC for the development of new FireWire products. The first fruits of the companies' efforts will be a set of IEEE 1394 integrated circuits to be introduced in early 2002, including a 1394-to-UDMA100 solution.
