Nicholas Tripp notes that a "new mall called 'The Streets at Southpoint' in Durham, NC is scheduled to open in 100 days, and they just released the mall vendor directory today. 'Apple Computer' is listed as a vendor. Another Apple Store?" (Meanwhile, Apple has also confirmed that its South Coast Plaza store (Costa Mesa, CA) will open December 1st, according to emails sent to readers from Apple.)

    fairly old news

    The Apple Store in Durham has been know for some time now. As a matter of fact, Apple has openings for this store. This mall is supposed to be some kind of upscale mall with the likes of GAP for shops.

    When is there going to be a store in Michigan??

    If I wanted to buy something I could potentially go to one of many in Illinois or Ohio. But I want to work at one! arg.

    Known but not official...

    It was never official news until today. The mall, for the first time, confirmed their vendor list today. Now it's just official. "Official" makes for much more believable news.

    As an Apple user at NC State University (in Raleigh, NC) this is wonderful news! Now I won't need to hit the road for four hours to the VA store.
