AT&T brings 4G LTE to lots of new markets

Carrier AT&T is continuing the roll-out of its 4G LTE network, announcing the expansion to 24 new markets this week. The move means 150 million US residents now have access to the high-speed network, which is more than double of the number the carrier catered to last year. AT&T said it's ahead of schedule with the roll-out, and its 4G network can be as much as 10 times faster than 3G speeds when accessing data on the go.

Earlier this week, the carrier announced it has lit up the network in major cities such as Denver, Colorado; Louisville, Kentucky; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Daytona Beach and Pensacola, Florida.

The network also arrived in Tacoma, Washington, as well as Federal Way, Auburn, Lakewood, Puyallup and several other nearby cities.

Smaller areas that just arrived include Twin Cities, Minnesota; Provo, Utah; York, Pennsylvania; Anne Arundel County, near Annapolis, Maryland; and Fairfield County near Danbury, Connecticut. The Saratoga Springs, New York expansion also includes nearby Loughberry Lake, Lake Lonely, and portions of Saratoga Lake, Wilton, Malta, Greenfield and Ballston Spa.

More newly added markets include those in the greater Seattle, Washington area, including Bellevue, Bothell, Edmonds, Kirkland, Lynwood, Redmond, Renton, Seattle, Tukwila and Woodinville.

The carrier plans to make its 4G LTE network available to 250 million Americans by the end of 2013 and 300 million by 2015. It is in 103 markets as of Friday, November 16.
