Although readers yesterday began receiving shipment notices of BTO PowerBook G4s with CD-RW drives, Leon Dicks notes the option is still not available for order at the Apple Store.

I just went to the Apple Store anthe option IS available.
I don't know which Apple store you are visiting, but when I just went there is said this below the drive options pop-up menu:
Choose an optical drive to fit your needs with either, DVD-ROM or CD-RW. (CD-RW Slot Load Drive - Temporarily Unavailable)

CDRW Titanium for sale
If you readers are interested. We are an Apple reseller and have a shipment of PowerBook G4 Titaniums with the CDRW drive coming to us. Out of all them we ordered only one is still available for sale. It's a 667MHz, 512MB, 30GB, CDRW, w/Airport configuration.
Funny thing though, usually when we order CTO PowerBooks they ship from Taiwan. These are shipping out from Sacramento.
