Alera unveils 32X DVD+RW FireWire drive

Alera Technologies has introduced the DVD+RW Cruiser, a DVD rewritable drive with standard FireWire connectivity. The Cruiser can also use A-Connect USB 2.0 and Cardbus/PCMCIA connection kits. The DVD+RW Cruiser has an estimated street price of $699.

    According to the brief statement and what I know about the SuperDrive I'd say that it's the same except this drive comes in an external flavor.

    I wonder what the CDR capabilities are (can it write CD TEXT, etc..) and what speed the DVD can write (1x, 2x, faster), can it do DVDRW, DVDRAM, etc..
