    Upgrade better be easier

I bought ViaVoice 1.0 but ended up pirating version 2.0 because IBM made upgrading so damn impossible.

If they have any sense and actually care about their earlier customers (especially their DOLLARS), they'll make it easier this time.

    Any good...?

I've tried using Apple's Speech Recognition on my 2001 iBook running OS X. It's marginally responsive, at best. Is this ViaVoice any better?

    Text-to-speech?

Anyone who had previous versions for Classic, does it include a text-to-speech engine?

I find myself wanting to use Apple's Plaintalk, but find the quality to be quite poor. (If I remember correctly, the software has barely changed in a decade...)

    I don't think so IBM

IBM promised a free upgrade to 2.0 for X if you purchased 2.0 for Classic... I will make them hold that offer up! IBM is only 15 minutes away from my office and I will go b**** them out.

    Quality and Functionality

Can anyone speak to the actual product? How good was it under OS 9? I would love to purchase this and give it a shot, but voice recognition is still an infant science. Who has some experience with the previous versions and can shed some light on what we can expect?
