    holy...

Not JUST an MP3 player built in (which I disabled), Limewire has REALLY come along way since the last release. Theres finally a full amount of options, better search criteria and a much improved installer. Well done guys!

    no connection info!

the older limewire used to tell you how many hosts/files/TB's were available in the bottom left corner. the new version doesn't, so it's harder to know when a given search will succeed--i.e., when there are lots of hosts/files.

    What about speed?

I have the previous version installed and it is slow as h***. Has anyone noticed a speed increase ib 1.8?

Why does it suck so bad?

Is there anyway to get limewire 1.7 back? 1.8 is 5 times as slow...rarely brings up and decent connections, and doesn't have the connection info at the bottom so i have no idea if my search is even worth the bother. if you have the 1.7 installed yet or know how i can get it back please drop me a line at tinoman@freeze.com thanks

    Possible Speed Bump?

I started a forum topic about issues with the installer (help still needed!) BUT one of the responses so far suggested a method of speeding up the interface, and getting the menu items up in the menu bar where they belong. Here's the thread:
