Morning tech news: Microsoft has acknowledged that its "Passport" technology has a serious design flaw that could have allowed hackers to steal credit card numbers and personal information; Palm has regained the lead in handheld device revenues over Compaq; and the proposed DOJ-Microsoft settlement was "hurried" in an effort to beat the court-imposed deadline for a settlement proposal.
