    PDF Windoze only...

Well, if it's a subscription service, it's probably encrypted somehow, a la e-books. My guess is that the authentication software is Win only.

    We invented Havana!

Apple payed Adobe for the Quartz engine. Every pdf based document should be able to be read on OS 10.1 by default. Period. Not ifs, buts, about it.

Hey, towel-headed religious nuts, I got a great target for ya. It's in Redmond. And remember, use Flight Simulator to plan, and Passport to pay for...

-Please excuse the overtones/nature of the previous wording/message. I'm just venting.
I mean absolutely none of it. I'm just totally and completely ticked off.

According to them "We're not just delivering pdf files. We also provide additional digital rights management required by publishers that is not supported by Adobe' software."

I guess they do not want my, our, business.

    cheap

do you know something we don't or are you just babbling pseudo-knowledgable? (like the rest of your post).

Anyway, I'll read the NYT on the web. No doubt the Windows version will be cracked shortly, after which they shut down this harebrained scheme due to lack of interest. Remember: most Windows users are cheap bottom feeders.

    Well...

...take this however you like, but the page does state that it is "currently available to Windows..." and that "We are currently working on support for other platforms."

In other words, they got the Windows version out the door, and are now turning their attention to Mac, Linux, etc. It still sucks though, 'cause instead of designing something from the ground up that worked well with everything, we'll get a modified, hack job based on a Windows-designed product.

    mac version

How many times do we hear that they are working on a Mac version? They always say that, and it's usually not quite true.
