MacNN Developers contribute to Gerry's ICQ
updated 04:45 pm EST, Wed October 31, 2001
A group of developers in our forums have been trying to complete the carbonization of the popular ICQ client, Gerry's ICQ, for Mac OS 10.1. So far, several outstanding bugs have been addressed, and source code is available as well. If you are interested in helping out with this project or testing the applications, visit the website or read the forum thread.

Oh, Thank you!
I absolutely LOVE Gerry's ICQ. It's interface and ease-of-use is stories above either the Mac or Windows version made by Mirabalis.
Unfortunately, with all the system updates since the last official Gerry's ICQ release, it's become a bit more incompatible ("spinning arrows of death") and I recently had to switch back over to the original ICQ - I hate it. It's interface is large, ugly and difficult to use. Plus it's STILL missing features that were available in Gerry's ICQ and that are available on the PeeCee.
I look forward to being able to use Gerry's ICQ (or some close cousin) again soon. Whoever Carbonizes it, I hope they make it 9 and X compatible.
