    What does "off of" mean

    Is that ("off of") English?

Perhaps he should give up on Windows now, he obviously has a poor grammar checker. Perhaps his grammar checker does not work on story headlines.

    How embarrassing!!

    Well...

...I liked it, but it suffers from what every other article says. Yeah, Apple and OSX is great. I love their software...and WOW! When I plug my camera in, it works. When I plug my old mouse in, it works. This is great! Everything just WORKS right out of the box.

    But....

    ...I'm staying with Windows.

    Sick of the Nick names...

If I hear the words Mac Zealot one more time I'll scream.

    Apple Zealot
    Macist
    Apple-ite

Those were all used in the first 3 paragraphs.

Notice when he did have problems it was due to him simply not reading and following the System Requirements of the Software. Would he also install MS-Works for DOS on his Windows XP?

Does Quicken run correctly on anything?

As far as nicknames go, I like to call myself,
"A graphic designer who enjoys meeting deadlines , thus prefers the Macintosh due to the lack of hassle required to complete my work"

    45 min install?

I don't remember anything like that long installing OS X 10.1 on my PowerBook?

Maybe because mine was a clean install rather than the update. I think the update takes longer.

Anyway... I'm having fun: I've just installed Windows XP under the Virtual PC for OS X test drive!

It works pretty well, although a bit sluggish. I've hacked XP so it doesn't use product activation.

Best of both worlds? Get a Mac and you can have both!

    Silly Windows People

Mr. Baig, in the article, describes the dock as a cross between the Windows task bar and start menu. Yes, of course you are right Mr. Baig, it must be modeled after Microsoft, especially since the dock existed in NeXTStep years before Windows 95 (I mean '96) came out. When will they ever get the facts right? Really, aren't these people supposed to be investigative journalists? Perhaps, Mr. Baig shouldn't be writing about computers if he doesn't know anything about them.

    That's fine

Hey, we can't expect a lifelong Windoze user to make that switch to sanity in one step :)
But maybe he'll get a Mac as a second computer - and then maybe he'll find that after a couple of months he hasn't used his PC for weeks - Macs have a way of growing on you.

Just picked up a new iBook. I am in love.
