Sustainable Softworks has released IPNetSentry 1.3, an update to its $35 personal firewall and intrusion detection software. It adds support for a greater number of filters, moves the "payload inspection feature" for protection against worms such as Code Red and Nimda, into the kernel (for better reliability/performance), offers an option to "slam shut”" intruding TCP connections, fixes memory leaks, and has new options to turn off all disk access functions for use in ultra-high performance environments such as 100Mb/sec networks.
