Andy Barton writes that HP has told him that the company is developing OS X drivers for HP G series All-in-ones: "Just a note to say that HP called me this morning to confirm that OS X drivers for the G series all-in-ones will be released on 14th November 2001. The lady confirmed that she would send the software out directly to my home."

    HP DeskJet Drivers?

Anyone heard anything about updated drivers for HP DeskJets on Max OS X? Most of the features of my DeskJet 970Cse are not avaiable in OS X. HP's site still list 5/24 as their latest driver version.

I have recently had to recommed either an Epson or Cannon to some new iBook users, since the OS X drivers were out there and seemed much more complete.

It would be impressive if these drivers included scanner drivers for use with GraphicConverter. scanning in X so far is limited to Vuescan which you have very little idea which scanners are supported, and Agfa's drivers. When are we going to see more scanning drivers?

I got this message YESTERDAY from HP. According to it, the PSC drivers will come out in November and the All In One in December

"Hewlett-Packard is very anxious about offering a solution for your All-in-One
device on Mac OS X. We have had several versions of the software in
circulation either through our beta program or handed out at MacWorld trade
shows. HP was on track for a late summer delivery date for Mac OS X.
Unfortunately, due to recent changes to Mac OS X including the release of
version 10.1 we have had to re-evaluate the release date for the software. The
software required for supporting an All-in-One device is complex and relies
heavily on specific components provided by Apple. When Mac OS X version 10.1
released several components of the software that were functioning under Mac OS
10.0.4 no longer functioned in version 10.1. Because of the high adoption rate
expected for 10.1 we have decided to not release the software until the fixes
are in place. We are expecting a solution to be available for the OfficeJet
and PSC series of devices in November and a solution for the LaserJet
All-in-One devices in December. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has
caused for our customers and we are diligently working on getting a solution
    released as quickly as possible."
