    They're still not cheap

    Kingston's model for my dual-500 G4:
    KTA-G4133/256 256MB Module $83.00

Memory from memoryx.net for the same machine:
    256mb PowerMac G3, G4 PC133-222 $33.00

Even with a 2-for-1 rebate, Kingston's still expensive. Memory-X (I don't work for them, but I buy their chips for all the Macs I work with.) even certifies their chips for Apple's firmware specs.

I'm sure there're other vendors cheaper, too.

    Remember shipping too

I found what looked like a great deal for memory for my PowerBook G4 on the DealNN site, but the vendor wanted $20 for shipping, totally negating any savings. The same RAM from OWC cost a little more, but they ship by Airborne 2-day for $4. The total cost was lower.
