Tadd Torborg has posted photos of Apple's Westfarms grand-opening in Farmington, CT. Meanwhile, another reader spotted an upcoming store in Cambridge, MA:

"... there is apparently an Apple Retail Store opening in the Cambridge Side Galleria in Cambridge, MA. When I was there today I saw a black facade on one of the store spaces with the white apple and the text "www.apple.com" on it in white. Doesn't indicate an opening date. Thought I'd pass the word, as I didn't remember hearing about one in Cambridge before."

    the one in the galleria has been known about for a while i though. it's listed in the apple jobs openings. im curious why apple didn't go after Harvard Square though...seems perfect!

    Cambridge

    This store has been known about for quite some time. The fact that its not done is still surprising to me. The folks at the Peabody, MA Apple Store thought it would be open by the end of October.

    Harvard Sq.

    I work in Harvard Sq and as far as I can tell there arent many open spots which they could get which would suit them. I mean the top spots are in the garage but there is a closed store on Mass ave. maybe about a min or 2's walk from the T station which could work.

    i was at the peabody opening event thingy, and one of Apple's VP's of retail was there (a very nice person) and the guy next to me in line inquired about that very thing--why not Harvard Square or Newbury or Boylston? Apparently in the case of Harvard Sq, they narrowly missed getting the spot they wanted (which that is, i do not know), but had obviously given it strong consideration. But i'm glad that soon i'll be able to take the T to get my fix...

    Westfarms

    Was at the opening on Sat. morning. I love having this store 20 mins from home and 10 mins from where I go to school. Too cool, I never thought there would be a store so close by.
    The store is awesome!
