The CERT Coordination Center, a Carnegie Mellon University group that monitors security issues on the Internet, has issued a warning on "mstream," a new tool being used in distributed denial of service attacks.
"We believe the code for 'mstream' to be under active testing and development," the organization said. "The tool is capable of producing a severe denial of service condition. At this time, it does not contain any functionality that adds to the overall threat posed by tools in general."
