Terran Media Cleaner 5.01 updater
updated 11:38 am EST, Thu November 23, 2000
The Cleaner 5 v5.0.1 update is the first of two that Terran Interactive (a Media 100 company) will release to shake out issues discovered since the launch of Cleaner 5. This update includes many fixes, including better handling of 16:9 DV sources and better scaling of interlaced sources. The second (available in beta form within a few weeks) will address two major remaining issues in the Macintosh release: the ability to create the proprietary MPEG-1 files that Adaptec Toast requires to make Video CDs, and a fix for problems when creating long Windows Media files. The Read Me notes a workaround for the Sorenson Video 2 quality issue on dual-processor G4s, and talks about the need to disable the RadDV codec (which Cleaner 5 includes for high-performance, high-quality DV decoding) when using Final Cut Pro on the same machine.
