    NEC 1550v

If you head to NEC's page from the link macnn has, you get all the info for the 1530V model. If you choose 1550v from NEC's drop down menu, you head right again to the 1530v page.

I still don't understand what incremental improvements there are in the new model.

    bezel width

The only real difference between the 1530 and the 1550 appears to be the bezel width. Approximately a half-inch narrower all around on the 1550. The drop down took me to the 1550, you have to hit the "Go" button by the drop-down, not "return" on your keyboard. 400 bucks, hmmm this is getting tempting. Sounds like a good "palettes" monitor to pair up with an Apple or Formac 17" Studio as a main, all for under 1500 bucks.

    Listen up Apple

Kind of make you wish Apple would offer something this low in price with a thin bezel. Granted Apple's offerings are digital vs. analog.

And there in lies the problem of not being usuable in conjunction with any of their own laptops.
