Italian music software developer IK Multimedia announced the availability of the new EZ-Mixer 1.0, a $40 MP3 remixing software package that emulates a typical DJ two track mixing desk and includes "all the features required to produce live remixes" such as Song position controls with loop and markers points, manual and automatic cross-fades, pitch/tempo control on each track, master, pan, bass and treble controls, etc. It also supports the import/export of several audio formats as well as direct song ripping from audio CDs.

    Could be nice...

From the description on the website, this looks like stiff competition for Megaseg. Similar audience and feature set, MUCH cheaper, and the ability to save mixes to disk sounds sweet. And really, the UI could hardly be any worse than Megaseg's. I'm going to take it out for a spin when I get home tonight.

    MegaSeg vs EZ

I think the problem was that MegaSeg started out to be a radio station style cart machine, then tried to add the ability to mix like a Turntablist. However, the app still was working on the cart underpinnings. It was like trying to use a cordless drill to put together a model airplane (but you don't need a drill for model airplanes...exactly)
