Apple may be delaying the launch of the iPhone 5S
until the end of the year, owing to a late decision to switch to a 4.3-inch display, Taiwan's Commercial Times claims. The paper's sources in the semiconductor industry say the phone was previously scheduled to ship in September or October. The paper adds that TSMC may only deliver chips for the 5S in August, but that another device -- the low-cost iPhone
-- is still on track to ship towards the end of the September quarter, its own chips having arrived in June.
