4 hours ago | Posted in: gaming, iPhone apps, iPad apps

One of the biggest problems of tabletop gaming is that requires a lot of things to be in place before you can even begin to play. Apple stops code-signing for iOS 8.2, blocking downgrade possibilities

16 hours ago | Posted in: security, software, developer, Apple

Continuing with recent custom, Apple has stopped "code-signing" iOS 8.2 for security reasons. The move, intended to protect users, does make downgrading back to earlier versions impossible, and prevents users with jailbroken devices in iOS 8.2 from updating. The code-signing procedure, which applies to both Apple and iOS or OS X developers, is designed to prevent malicious apps from masquerading as legit ones, or for outside parties to inject code into applications.

Hands On: Meditate Plus 1.01 (iOS)

20 hours ago | Posted in: audio, iPhone apps, iPad apps

Whether you take meditation as an essential part of your life, or see it as just being able to shut up and stop thinking for a minute, there are an awful lot of meditation apps for iOS. Seriously. There are more of these than there are notepad apps, and we didn't think that was possible. Normally we'd examine them all, but it just seems somehow wrong to stress-test meditation apps. We've come to Meditate Plus after anecdotal recommendations, which also said you can see this app as a model for how they all work.

Review: Jorno Bluetooth Keyboard

Mon May 4, 2015 | Posted in: iPhone, accessories, iPad

The Jorno Bluetooth keyboard and stand for tablets certainly looks nice. The gunmetal grey shell of the keyboard looks great while the unit is folded up. That's right -- the keyboard folds with two hinges into a swank-looking brick when not in use. There's also a nice case with a magnetic closure that transforms into a tablet stand. This keyboard and its care are ideal for travel -- it's lightweight and compact when not in use. There were some things we didn't like about it, but the designers were certainly on the right track when they came up with this one. Check our review to see what we thought about it.
