Welcome to Daily Deals, the post where the staff of MacNN search through online retailers for bargains, offers, and discounts on hardware, software, gadgets, and games for our readers. The still-alive deals from yesterday have been kept with dead deals moved off the list, with the new additions including a 55-inch 4K LG TV for $698, a Vizio 2.1-channel sound stand for $78, and other potential Valentine's Day gifts.
Harman has opened its head unit with support for CarPlay and Android Auto up for preorder, a unit it first showed off at CES in January. The JBL Legend CP100 in-dash receiver is an aftermarket upgrade for an existing 2-DIN in-car entertainment system that adds in connectivity with smartphones, including access to calling and messaging functions, turn-by-turn navigation sourced from the mobile device's mapping app, and management of music playback.
Pandora is looking to possibly put itself up for sale, and is working to enter discussions with potential buyers, as the service endures challenging trading conditions, according to a report. The music streaming service is supposedly working with Morgan Stanley to conduct acquisition talks with suitors, though apparently only at a preliminary level, and follows after the publication of a disappointing quarterly financial report involving a net loss of $19.4 million.
We feel a bit like we're rats suggesting that SoundCloud is a sinking ship that we're going to desert but right now, this week, there is reason to make certain you have all of the audio you've uploaded there. It will be a blow if the company closes as a result of poor financial returns, as it's a service we've enjoyed personally and we continue to use professionally: you can hear every one of the MacNN podcast shows on there. Nonetheless, the firm has announced serious financial losses and while we hope they can turn it around, we don't want you (or us) to lose any of our audio on there.

Serato, a developer typically associated with software used by professional DJs in their performances, has created an app for iOS that brings the DJ performance to the iPhone. Pyro is able to play songs from a playlist one after another, with the app's algorithm monitoring the beats of the current and next tracks, blending them together and allowing them to run one after another without any gaps between tracks, a task club DJs routinely perform.
As with other holidays, some of the best gifts are things that will last a while, so the person will frequently be reminded of your thoughtfulness (as opposed to flowers, which die quickly and are just as swiftly forgotten). To that end, MacNN Editor Charles Martin and One More Thing podcast co-host Malcolm Owen have come up with a few items that we think will create a lasting impression, and prove useful all year long -- arranged in no particular order, but covering a wide range of budgets. We've tested most of these, and some have been received as gifts, and they are all still much appreciated.
The App Store is a constantly-changing place, with new apps joining the catalog, while others adjust their prices to encourage some new sales. App Deals for iOS aims to point you in the direction of apps for your iPhone or iPad that have been reduced in price, making them an essential purchase, or in some cases, even free. Highlights from today's list include sales on boardgame conversion Forbidden Island, one of the best games of 2015 Lara Croft Go, and educational title Philosophy Explained.
