On March 31, the US Patent & Trademark Office published Apple’s latest figurative trademark representing their exclusive mobile channel icon/logo. Owners of an iPhone or iPod touch will be able to simple touch this icon and be taken to Apple’s iTunes Store in the future to purchase new mobile applications on iTunes. The new logo/icon was introduced earlier this month when Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone’s software roadmap. The logo is prominently presented in relation to their iPhone Developer Program. Apple asserts a claim of priority based on a trademark application filed in Trinidad and Tobago on March 7, 2008. Apple’s documentation presents the trademark as being filed under International Classes 035 (retail store services), 038 (Telecommunication services) and 042 (relating to software apps on mobile devices). Apple’s full disclosure of International Classes is noted below.

Apple’s application states that the “mark consists of a stylized letter “A” formed by the drawings of a pencil, a paintbrush and a ruler inside a white circle” as illustrated here for your convenience.
