On December 28, the US Patent & Trademark Office published Apple’s latest trademark titled MULITSAN under application 77356284. Apple filed its new trademark under International Class 009 which covers computer software. A note which came out of Apple’s 2007 WWDC describes MultiSAN in the following manner: “Xsan 2 is scheduled to ship in late 2007. New for Xsan 2 is a rewritten XsanAdmin tool, improved performance, MultiSAN for provisioning your Xsan controllers, and Spotlight support.”

Apple Logo & Other Figurative Trademarks

The US Patent & Trademark Office published another of Apple’s latest trademark applications covering their very own corporate logo under serial number 77356362. Under Apple’s official trademark application description, they state that “the mark consists of a design of an apple with a bite removed.” Apple filed the trademark under International Classes 21 and 22 which were presented in the application as follows:

International Class 021: Housewares, namely, bowls, cork screws, cups, decorative crystal prisms, decorative glass not for building, decorative plates, dishes, figurines made of china, crystal, earthenware, glass, ceramics, or porcelain, insulating sleeve holders for beverage containers, lunch boxes, mugs, napkin holders, napkin rings not of precious metals, plates, sports bottles sold empty, thermal insulated containers for food or beverage, trays not of precious metal, vacuum bottles, containers for household use; dinnerware; beer steins; picnic coolers; wine glasses; beverage glassware; coasters not of paper and not being table linen; removable insulators for drink cans and bottles; lunch kits consisting of lunch boxes and insulated containers; plastic cups; paper cups; paper plates.

International Class 022: Lanyards for portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio, image, and video files

Maintenance Trademark Updates

Other recent trademark updates have surfaced which could be considered to be “maintenance” trademark updates. Such trademarks simply cover Apple’s recent 2007 corporate name shuffle from Apple Computer Inc. to simply Apple Inc. The most recent trademarks include the US filed “iPod Shuffle” along with “iTunes Plus” and “Back to my Mac” which were filed both in the US and Europe this month. The figurative Mac Logo noted above (the face) was recently filed in Europe under application 006480826.
