Oppo launches R819 smartphone with optional stock Android install

Uses 4.7-inch IPS display, quad-core processor, 8MP Sony Exmor camera

Chinese producer Oppo has launched a new smartphone that is making its way to Europe in the future, and possibly the United States. The R819 has a 4.7-inch IPS display with a 720p resolution, a quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage into a 7.3mm (0.29 inches) and weighing just 110 grams (3.9 ounces).

On the back is an f/2.0 aperture 8-megapixel Sony Exmor BSI camera sensor with a front-facing 2-megapixel version boasting an 88-degree viewing angle. Packing a 2,000mAh battery, Wi-Fi, DNLA support, and dual SIM slots, it also offers the choice of using either Oppo's Color ROM or an installation of stock Android.

It is currently available to pre-order in Europe for 269 euro ($359) for shipping in early September. While earlier Oppo handsets can be bought in the US, there does not appear to be a listing on the US website yet.
