Verizon taking a 'hard look' at Canadian carrier Wind
According to reports, US wireless carrier Verizon is investigating the purchase of Canadian cellphone carrier Wind Mobile. One source noted by Toronto's The Globe says that Verizon is "definitely taking a hard look right now." AT&T, Vodafone, and the Telenor Group of Norway are all potential suitors, according to sources for the Globe. The Canadian government is stalling or blocking VimpelCom's attempt to sell its share in Wind at auction, with a seeking price of more than $500 million. VimpleCom's CEO claims that it will take a billion-dollar investment in Wind to have the infrastructure to turn a profit.
HTC deletes Android 4.2.2 update file for HTC One, return ETA unknown
An initial release of Android 4.2.2 for the HTC One handset has been pulled by the manufacturer. A tweet by Three UK Support confirmed to a customer that HTC had yanked the update file, with no new schedule for release. HTC does claim that the update is coming, but is not providing a timetable for release.
