FCC approves Samsung's LTE-equipped Stratosphere handset

Documents point to Verizon launch

Samsung's unannounced Stratosphere smartphone has finally surfaced at the FCC. Corroborating earlier reports, the Commission's testing suggest the device will operate on Verizon's 4G LTE network. The documents also show a shape that matches the Epic 4G-like slider design that recently surfaced in several leaked pictures.

The Stratosphere is expected to represent Verizon's first LTE QWERTY slider, described by some as Verizon's Galaxy S II variant. Despite the rumors, a full list of specs has yet to surface.

Verizon and Samsung have yet to announce any details surrounding the Stratosphere launch. [via Droid-Life]
