OmniOutliner arrives for iPad

Mirrors desktop version

Omni Group has launched OmniOutliner for iPad, which parallels the company's Mac outlining software. The iPad app gives users the ability to create, collect and organize information like notes, to-do lists and agendas, and manage tasks and expenses. Text styling options are similar to OmniOutliner 3, and the app supports inline images and multiple column formats.

Document sharing options include email, MobileMe and WebDAV servers, and export from iTunes. iPad and desktop documents are fully interoperable, and the iPad app can import OPML files from other outlining software. The app requires iOS 4.0, and costs $20 at the App Store.

Until Omni includes cloning (a la MORE 20 years ago...) the app remains a non-starter for many users.

I use an older version of OmniOutliner sometimes. I don't know what cloning is. When I get an iPad, I'll consider OmniOutliner for it. The one limitation of the iPads at the middle school where I work is the seeming dearth of "useful" apps. Students have plenty of suggestions for games, but that's not really why we got the iPads.

You gonna bag on Microsoft when they come out with a "limited" version of Word for the iPad that doesn't do the 1000 esoteric things that nobody else uses?
