Nikon D3100 shows up in Best Buy inventory system

Nikon D3100 due on September 18 at Best Buy: leak

Nikon's upcoming entry-level D3100 DSLR is in Best Buy's inventory system with an expected ship date of September 18, which is about a month after an expected August 19 launch date. NikonRumors said today that the SKU listing indicates DSLR will be bundled with an 18-55mm zoom lens, though no other specifics were revealed by the leak. An official announcement from Nikon regarding the D3100 is expected for next week.

According to previous rumors, the D3100 may sport a CMOS sensor rather than a CCD and would have continuous autofocus whenever in live view, such as when capturing movies. It should have 1080p video capture capabilities, and an 11-point AF system lifted from the D90. Four new lenses are expected to accompany the release of the D3100.

"According to previous rumors, the D3100 may sport a CMOS sensor rather than a CCD and would have continuous autofocus whenever in live view, such as when capturing movies."

aren't current Nikons CMOS? looking around... yes. and the CMOS is what makes the lame jello/wobble video.

    perhaps the rumor is reversed?

as in... sports a CCD vs. a CMOS? as that would be a) different than now b) reduce wobble/jello on video?
