Upcoming REAL Studio update
Autodesk has begun releasing details on this year's Autodesk University Conference and Exhibition. The event, which will take place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, will provide Autodesk enthusiasts with an opportunity to come together and take part in presentations and hands-on labs. Autodesk University 2010 is set to run from November 30th until December 2nd, with registration opening at the end of August. A number of registration packages will be made available, such as an all inclusive pass, a one-day pass, and a guest pass. In addition, Autodesk is also still offering space for exhibitors at the event. Anyone looking to reserve a booth can do so by submitting an online application through the company's website.
Real Studio 2010 Release 3 to add Cocoa compiling
An upcoming update to REAL Studio will include an option to compile a Cocoa application, says REAL Software. The Cocoa framework, which has been in the works for some time but not yet complete, has been deemed stable enough to be offered as a beta with the 2010 Release 3 update. With the new framework in place, most users will only have to recompile their application to get a working Cocoa version. However, in some cases minor changes may be required, such as if users want to take advantage of new features. According to Geoff Perlman, REAL Software Founder and CEO, "Our primary goal with the transition to Cocoa is compatibility for people's projects; we want them to just work."
