Macvide releases standalone Flash Player 1.7 for Mac

Macvide today announced Flash Player 1.7,the latest version of its standalone Flash utility for Mac OS X. The application allows users to play Flash content while offline, including games or videos. All Flash formats are supported, including SWF and FLV files. Content can be dowloaded from sites such as YouTube to be played anytime. Manual time line control is provided while watching videos.

The optimum playing size is automatically determined, but can still be adjusted. Flash Player 1.7 for Mac OS X 10.5/10.5 is available as a free download from Macvide.

    Alternatively, there's the [also free] Perian plugin for quicktime. Perian enables you to play flash movie files right within Quicktime Player, as well as add native Quicktime support for many other [somewhat esoteric] movies formats.

    Also, there is iSwiff, another simple standalone, as well as SWF & FLV Player , which offers more functionality on the Pro version, such as exporting, full screen and other.
