UCSB promo to reward Apple-owners

UCSB Apple promotion

Students and faculty at the University of California Santa Barbara can as part of a promotional effort to publicize how many UCSB students own Apple products. Apple student representatives Maya Collins and Ian Fisch said they will circle the campus this month in black Apple hats, handing out prize entry forms to students, faculty and staff who are in possession of any fully visible Apple product, according to the Daily Nexus Online. The contest began yesterday and ends on November 23rd, with the final drawing to be held the Monday after Thanksgiving. Fisch said "we want to show how prevalent Apple is on campus, a lot of students use Apple - many people don't know how popular it is. Plus, it's a cool contest... iPods are really popular with students. This will get people excited."

Prizes include a new 30GB video iPod for first place, and 2GB iPod nanos with the choice between the AirPort Express wireless internet system or an iSight web camera for second and third place winners. Apple representatives will be handing out more than 90 coupons for free iTunes music, according to the report. Contestants must return the forms to Collins or Fisch in the UC lobby or in the computer department of the UCSB Bookstore on Wednesdays and Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to collect prizes.
