Mid-ranged HTC Desire 820 has 13MP rear camera, 8MP front imaging sensor

HTC launched its second 64-bit device at IFA, following the Desire 510 launched last month. The Desire 820 could be considered the successor to the Desire 816 and will be shipping with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 onboard, a 1.5GHz octa-core processor capable of 64-bit processing, something which could aid its performance when the next version of Android is released.

Using a 5.5-inch 720p display, the plastic-bodied smartphone has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and the HTC BoomSound speaker system. While it has a familiar 13-megapixel camera on the back, complete with a flash and an f/2.2 aperture, the Desire 820 has an 8-megapixel front camera, complete with various selfie-friendly functions, such as "Live Makeup" and the ability to blend multiple photographs together. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and LTE support are also included.

The Desire 820 will be going on sale in China from late September, with other markets expected in October, though HTC has yet to reveal pricing for the device.
