updated 12:18 pm EDT, Wed September 3, 2014

Identical Iconia Tab 8 W and One 8 run Windows 8.1, Android respectively

Acer today announced two new tablets, and expanded the Iconia One series. Shown at today's IFA show in Berlin were the Windows with Bing-driven Iconia Tab 8 W, and the Android-based Iconia Tab 10, and Iconia One 8. All three models are expected in the US in October and November, with slightly earlier launches in Europe.

The Iconia Tab 8 W and Iconia One 8 are both powered by an Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor, and micro-USB port for syncing and power. Both feature an eight-inch 1280x800 IPS display, with 10-point capacitive multitouch. The only difference between the two tablets is OS -- the Tab 8 W runs windows, and the One 8 is an Android 4.4 device. Both tablets will launch in Europe in October for €150, with a US launch in November for $150.
