Apple makes changes to iAd, opens platform to Russia, Switzerland

Apple continues to tweak its iAd mobile advertising platform, now offering new formats, including full-screen interstitial ads (as often seen on iTunes Radio in iTunes) as well as Facebook-style "pre-roll" videos where video clips begin playing silently until clicked on by users, which opens the full video with sound. A new implementation guide has also been issued with the updated offerings. Additionally, the company says that the iAd network is now available in Russia and Switzerland beginning today. Ad creators can choose to update their ads to target either or both countries using iAd workbench, notes 9to5Mac.

Possible iPhone 6 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch redesigned TrueTone flash parts spotted

AppleInsider has noted that a Chinese smartphone repair company has posted photos of what may be a redesigned "True Tone" flash unit for both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone. If genuine, the two parts reveal that Apple has redesigned the dual-LED flash assemblies into a single circular unit rather than the pill-shaped construction seen in the iPhone 5s. This would help to confirm earlier leaks of backplates and other shells that showed a round hole for the flash unit.

The photos of the assembly from ElekWorld show the two-tone flash technology, which made a significant difference in the quality of pictures taken indoors with the iPhone 5s. The sensor intelligently mixes the "warm" and "cool" lights in differing measures to help balance low lighting and keep skin tones true.

The picture also includes the flex cable, which shows a repositioned sleep/wake button as alleged in numerous reports. Though the two parts are said to be for a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model, the photos lack context to make an accurate judgement on sizing. However, if genuine the fact that there are two such parts would seem to confirm the existence of two different "iPhone 6" models.
