Mackie introduces new Creative Reference multimedia monitors
Mackie has announced the introduction of its new Creative Reference multimedia monitors, offering studio-quality audio performance. Designed for home or professional studios, the compact monitors features 50-watt stereo sound, three-inch or four-inch polypropylene-coated woofers, and a 0.75-inch ferrofluid-cooled silk-dome tweeter. Its front-facing features include a volume knob with a lit power ring, and users can plug one's smartphone into the front. Prices start at $130 per pair, and are available through local dealers.

QNAP Systems has announced the release of its new tower-based Turbo NAS TS-x53 Pro series and 2.5-inch drive SS-x53 Pro series. The TS-x53 is available in two-, four-, six- and eight-bay options, and the SS-x53 Pro in four- and eight-bay selections, with each series providing data storage for small and medium businesses, or as cost-effective PC substitutes for direct access to stored data, real-time surveillance monitoring and more.
The TS and SS-x53 Pro series are powered by a quad-core Intel Celeron 2.0GHz processor, with burst speed up to 2.41GHz and 8GB/4GB/2GB DDR3L RAM, which is expandable to 8GB. Between two and four LAN ports can provide up to 400MB per second read and write speeds in port trunking mode, and achieves 70-plusMB per second read and write AES-256 bit encryption performance. The TS-SS-x53 Pro series can be operated as a PC when a keyboard, mouse and monitor are connected, allowing users to run multiple applications, and users can install the Virtualization Station from QTA App Center which facilitates running Windows, Linux and UNIX-based VMs. More information on both new Turbo NAS series can be found through QNAP's website.
