updated 03:15 pm EDT, Wed August 20, 2014

Mini PCs come in fanless, standard and expansion slot models, starting at $1,495

Stealth Computer announced four new compact PCs today, all of which include four Ethernet ports to give consumers options for connectivity in rugged, industrial and embedded applications. Mini PCs from Stealth Computers offer consumers customizable small-format machines that can be used in a number of situations, from in-car units to point-of-sale terminals. Each of the four units starts at $1,495 before upgrades.

The standard LPC-480G4 comes with an Intel B840 1.9GHz processor, Intel HD graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500GB hard disk drive (HDD). As with other computers from Stealth, there are some options that can be upgraded to fit user needs. Wireless options, storage, RAM, optical drive and processor are all upgradable, for a price.

Consumers looking for a rugged version have an option with the fanless LPC-480G4FS. The unit is priced the same as the LPC-480G4, but is slightly bigger in footprint due to the thicker case at 6.1 x 10 x 2.1 inches. Starting specs are the same as well, with the exception of storage. Instead of an HDD, a 120GB solid state drive (SSD) is included. RAM, wireless, SSD storage and optical drives can be upgraded, but the processor is locked in.

Two Multi-LAN expansion slot models are offered as well with the LPC-480PCIG4 and LPC-480PCIeG4. Each unit allows the installation of a PCI or PCIe x4 expansion card, giving users some flexibility to change the computers to fit specific needs. Specifications for the machines are the same as the LPC-480G4 machine, including the same upgrade options. However, the LPC-480PCIeG4 lacks the ability to add wireless capabilities. The expansion models see their dimensions change as well, measuring 5.8 x 10.0 x 2.8 inches.

In addition to the four Gigabit LAN ports, two USB 2.0 ports, four USN 3.0 ports, two serial ports, a VGA port, DVI-D port, two PS/2 ports and audio in and out are included. All machines come with Windows 7 Professional installed, with options to change to Windows 8.1, Ubuntu or forego any pre-loaded operating systems.
