Apple TV gets delayed NFL Now app

updated 02:41 pm EDT, Wed August 20, 2014

Includes access to personalized streams

Nearly two weeks after its announcement on August 7, the NFL Now Apple TV app has finally gone live. Functionally, the app is similar to its iOS counterpart, providing a certain amount of free content, while moving other material -- such as game highlights and NFL Films specials -- behind a paywall. The NFL is promising to add 105 hours of original content per week.

Also supported are NFL Now's personalized streams, which offer up video based on a user's favorite teams and players, as well as their fantasy roster. The app should appear on Apple TVs as a silent update; an NFL Now Plus subscription costs $2 per month in the US, UK, and Mexico, and $5 per month everywhere else.
