Accessory manual reveals name of upcoming Sony Xperia tablet
Sony may have confirmed the existence of a new Xperia tablet in support documentation. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is refereed to by name in a user guide for the BSC10 Bluetooth Speaker with Magnetic Charging Pad, suggesting the company will be going for a smaller tablet as a follow-up to the Xperia Z2 Tablet, launched earlier this year.
While the document picked up by Phone Arena does mention the Z3 Tablet Compact, it does not appear to show a non-compact version of the tablet in its list of compatible devices. Sony could potentially create both a compact and a full-size Z3 Tablet, though the document suggests it is opting just for the smaller tablet size this time around.
Oddly, the document also neglects to mention the Xperia Z3, a rumored smartphone said to be an incremental update from the Xperia Z2. Bearing in mind the Xperia Z2 Tablet launched alongside the Xperia Z2 smartphone, it is likely the smartphone and tablet versions of the Xperia Z3 will be launched at the same time, potentially during IFA next month.
