Close-ups show tapered front edges
Luxury customization outfit Feld & Volk has published new photos of a collection of alleged iPhone 6 parts. The most prominent depict a front panel, offering a closer glimpse at cables, attachments, and edges. The edges are visibly rounded, presumably meant to blend seamlessly with the phone's back panel.
Other images show minor pieces such as the power button, mute switch, and SIM tray. Among these the only real departure from the iPhone 5s is the switch, since the new part is believed to pivot on a pair of pins instead of simply sliding.
Apple is on the verge of mass-producing the iPhone 6, if efforts aren't already underway. The device is expected to be announced in early September and ship the same month. It's still unknown if Apple is counting its 5.5-inch iPhone as a variant of the iPhone 6, or if only the 4.7-inch device (pictured) will count.
