New Nvidia Quadro releases span low to high-end performance

Nvidia today unveiled its next generation of Quadro GPUs. The company promises that the new lineup delivers up to twice the application performance and data-handling capability of the previous generation of the line. Five new Quadro GPUs have been announced -- the K5200, K4200, K2200, K620 and K420.

The K5200 is a dual-slot card, and has 2,304 CUDA cores, with 8GB of GDDR5 memory. The card requires a PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot, and has a DVI-I, a DVI-D, and a pair of DisplayPort 1.2 ports. The K5200 is a Kepler-based card.

Nvidia's K4200 is a single-slot card, and utilizes 1,344 CUDA cores, with 4GB of GDDR5 memory. A PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot is required. Video connectors on the card are a single DVI-I port, and a pair of DisplayPort 1.2 ports. The K4200 is a Kepler-based card.

The K2200 is also a single-slot PCI-E 2.0 x16 card. It features 640 CUDA cores, and 4GB of GDDR5 memory. The K2200 is a Maxwell architecture card.

Decreasing in size, the K620 has 384 CUDA cores on top of 2GB of DDR3 memory (not GDDR3). It is also a PCI-E 2.0 x16 card, with one DVI-I port and a single DisplayPort 1.2 port. The K620 is also Maxwell-architecture card.

Rounding up the lineup is the Quadro K420. It also has 385 lower-clocked CUDA cores, on top of 1GB of DDR3 memory. Ports included are a single DVI-I port, and one DisplayPort 1.2 port. The K420 is a Kepler-based card.

All five cards are expected to ship in September. No retail pricing is currently available.
