AT&T plans 99 cent LG G Pad 7.0 bundle with LG smartphone purchase

updated 12:11 pm EDT, Mon August 4, 2014

LTE edition of LG G Pad 7.0 goes on sale in US from August 8 on AT&T

AT&T will become the first carrier to sell the LG G Pad 7.0 LTE in the United States, it has announced. Part of the same product family as the G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1, the LTE-equipped G Pad 7.0 will be available to purchase through the carrier from August 8, with AT&T not only offering it as a standalone item, but also heavily discounting it when bought alongside a select number of LG smartphones.

The G Pad 7.0 LTE is identical to the Wi-Fi editions launched earlier, except for the extra cellular connectivity. Using a seven-inch HD+ IPS display, it features a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, upgradable by microSD. On the back is a five-megapixel camera, and inside is a 4000mAh battery, said to last for up to 10 hours per day.

Running on Android 4.4, it includes LG's suite of apps and software features, including Knock Code security, Quickmemo+ notetaking using photographs or screen captures, a Dual Window split-screen mode, and Qpair for responding to messages on a connected smartphone from the tablet.

On its own, AT&T is selling the G Pad 7.0 LTE for $150 on a two-year commitment, or alternately for $12.50 per month over 20 months. Buyers of the LG G2, the LG G3, or the LG G Flex will be able to add the tablet to their phone service for 99 cents.
