Adds AppleScript, TCP-over-HTTPS support
Rayner Software has released Netshade 6, an update of its proxy/VPN client for the Mac. The main addition is actually KeyShade, a tool for storing passwords, notes, and bank and credit card info. Data is encrypted using AES-256, and synced across devices. Rayner says that a standalone version of KeyShade will be "coming soon" to Mac and iOS, but that for now it's tied to NetShade.
The app's interface has been updated and streamlined; one option is a Tiles view, designed for viewing on TVs. Rayner has also added AppleScript support, a customizable Events system, and TCP-over-HTTPS, which can get around slow or blocked networks. The software as a whole has been optimized, particularly in terms of consuming less RAM and hard drive space.
NetShade costs $29 with one year of proxy access, or $59 with VPN service as well. Annual renewals are $19 and $49, respectively. Daily rates are available if necessary.
